So the Tiger said, "Very well, I won't eat you this time. Give me your beautiful little red coat."
Then he took Little Black Sambo's beautiful little red caot, and strutted off, saying, "Now I'm the grandest Tiger in the jungle!"
Soon Little Black Sambo met another Tiger that said, "Little Black Sambo, I'm going to eat you up!"

Once upon a time there was a little black boy named Little Black Sambo. Hit mother was Black Mombo and his father was Black Jumbo.
Black Mumbo made him a beautiful little red coat and some little blue trousers. Black Jumbo bought him a a beautiful green umbrella and a pair of purple shoes with crimson soles and crimson lingings.

...you taken off all your nice clothes? Don't you want them?" But the Tigers only answered, "Grr-r-r-r!" Then Little Black Sambo said, "If you want them, say so, or I'll take them away." But the Tigers would not let go of each other's tails, and so they could only say, "Grr-r-r-r!"
So Little Black Smabo put on all his fine clothes and walked off. The Tigers were very, very angry, but still they would not let go of each other's tails.

By and by he met a Tiger. "Little Black Sambo," said the Tiger, "I'm going to eat you up!" And Little Black sambo said, "Oh, please, Mr. Tiger, don't eat me up, and I'll give you my beautiful little red coat."
So the Tiger siad, "Very well, I won't eat you this time." And he took Little Black Sambo's beautiful little red coat and strutted off, saying, "Now I'm the grandest Tiger in the jungle."

And Little Black Sambo said, "Oh, please, Mr. Tiger, don't eat me up, and I'll give you my beautiful purple whoes with crimson soles and crimson linings. You can wear them on your ears." So the Tiger took the beautiful purple shoes with crimson soles and crimson linings and strutted off, saying, "Now I'm the grandest Tiger in the jungle."

Little Black Sambo went away crying because all his fine clothes were gone. Presently he heard a noise that sounded like "Grr-r-r-r!" It grew louder and louder.
"Oh, dear!" said Little Black Sambo. "Those Tigers are coming back to eat me up. What shall I do?" He ran quickly behind a palm tree and peeped around it.

"Oh, please, Mr. Tiger, don't eat me up, and I'll give you my beautiful little blue trousers."
"Very well," said the Tiger. "I won't eat you this time. Give me your beautiful little blue trousers."
So the Tiger took Little Black Sambo's beautiful little blue trousers, and strutted off, saying, "Now I'm the grandest Tiger in the jungle!"

Soon Little Black Sambo met another Tiger. "Oh, please, Mr. Tiger, don't eat me up," begged Little Black Sambo. "I'll give you my beautiful green umbrella. Tie a knot in your tail and carry it there."
"So I shall," said the Tiger. Then he took the beautiful green umbrella, and strutted off, saying, "Now I'm the grandest Tiger in the jungle!"

"Now," she said, "we'll have pancakes for supper!"
She got flour and eggs and milk and sugar, and made a huge plate of most lovely pancakes. She fried them in the melted ubtter, and they were just as yellow and brown as little Tigers.
Then they all sat down to supper. Black Mumbo ate twenty-seve. Black Jumbo ate fifty-five. But...
